These skis have a perfect shape, flex and width for beginner to intermediate freeskiers. They carve exceptionally well and the wood core and step-down sidewall provide great snap in and out of turns. They would also make a killer terrain park ski with good pop if you aren't into the whole symmetrical shape thing (same dimensions in the tip and tail). At 83mm wide, the Rival is great for all snow conditions and the All Mountain Rocker definitely improves performance in the deep.

Ideal Target Skier: Progressing Intermediate:This skier is pushing the limits of the intermediate badge, and getting off trail and figuring out how to get comfortable at higher speeds through variable terrain.

UHM Base: A maintenance free durable base. You may want to wax it up for springtime slush, other than that you can concentrate on other things.

Atomic All-Mountain Rocker: 75% camber underfoot, 15% early rise rocker in the tip and 10% tail rocker. 100% Versatility for all skiing conditions from powder to ice moguls.

Hybrid Cap/Sandwich Construction: This ski features Cap construction at the tip and tail for added durability and to reduce topsheet chipping, and has Sandwich constuction underfoot for greater edge hold and power through the turns. Its the best of both worlds.

ABS Sidewall: ABS provides better edge hold than other materials and construction types. It will also withstand impacts with rocks and terrain features (rails, boxes, your friend) more effectively when compared to cap style construction.

Wood Core: The standard core which has throughout time provided the best performance and durability. Each model may have it's own density level to help define flex and maximum speed but every wood core ski will be solid.
